AuCap was officially born in 2015 after years of partnership between Ana Moreno and Leo Di Caprio. It started off with an exhibition aimed at celebrating 20 Years of the great championof Formula 1 Ayrton Senna’s legacy, for which Leo created the line of furniture and exhibition totems of Ayrton’s memorabilia – today Limit in AuCap. Such was the success of the exhibitionand its products that the totems are now used constantly by the Ayrton Senna Institute in other exhibitions and in 2015 Leo Di Caprio and Ana Moreno put together Limit at Palazzo Litta, an ensemble of installation and furniture that make up a lounge for the event “Made in Milan”.
Several other lines have been created ever since, maintaining the concept of furniture that combines different histories and cultures, the European tradition of Portugal and Italy with Brazilian innovation, exoticism and cultural syncretism.
Ana Moreno brings forth the history of Augusto Moreno, er father, whose journey begins in Portugal over 40 years ago and currently results in the most luxurious and exclusive industrial closet producer in Brazil, all of which receive their undivided attention and the careful touch of their hand. Impeccable attention to detail and perfection of workmanship combined with strict quality standards and logistics are key to this unique, luxurious and completely bespoke product.
Leo Di Caprio is the name behind creation and art direction. From the Italian father and Brazilian mother comes the experience of living in Europe, the US and Brazil. With a law degree from a prestigious university and having worked for renowned law firms, he studied photography and cooking and explored different cultural areas only to discover his passion for design and art history. After studying product design and interior design in Milan, he begins in Brazil in 2006, almost by chance, his career as interior designer and furniture designer. In 2015, he becomes creative director and designer of AuCap.
